Ann Curry
Ann Curry, an American photojournalist and journalist who has reported on natural and war-related disasters for over 45 years, focuses on the suffering of those who live in these places. Curry has covered wars across the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, born November 19, 1956 (Agana) was an American journalist who worked as an anchor on television. Curry was noted especially for her coverage of human rights issues in war-stricken nations and natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan and raised by her Japanese mom. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. Her father was with the mother of her in Japan as a stationed in Japan following World War II. As a result of her father's military service, the family moved quite a bit. Curry was a high school graduate at Ashland Oregon. When she graduated from University of Oregon, Curry earned a bachelor of journalism degree in 1978. In her youth, she was exposed to many different cultures. Ashland was where she eventually completed the high school. Her broadcasting career began as an internship at KTVL Channel 10 Medford in Oregon. at the age of 22, she was the first female journalist at that station. Later, she became an anchor/reporter for KGW at Portland Oregon. In Los Angeles, she became an anchor and reporter for KCBS TV just four years after moving into the city. She received 2 Emmy Awards during the six years with the station.
